Golden Blues 04:50
Lose my train of thought wandering these empty sidewalks in this poorly painted picture of the American Dream. it's 2am and we're still awake in our basements of escape playing music that no one wants to hear. you won't admit it but we're lost. you won't admit it but we're lost. I can only remember things I was taught to forget. wash the rust off my iron hands and my stones to whet. fear anger love and desire, empty dreams of which I'll never tire. you won't admit it but we're lost. you won't admit it but we're never coming back. how could you feel nothing for the trees that kept you safe? is there anything left in your heart for those souls who drowned in the lake? now that we're gone I can see you clearly bruised knees burnt skin and all, you were what kept me here but I know now what you are. and All the things of which we dream are all the things we'll never know but you'll remain to be the one thing always real to me but all the rest we'll never know. there's something happening somewhere and i'll pray to god i'll find where that is, but for now i'll stay where I'm safe grounded and left alone. theres what you couldn't tell me, and what i had to learn about love; i'll sing these golden blues until i cough up blood. and all the things in which we dream are all the things we'll never know this place remains to be a a secluded leper colony out in the middle of the woods.

Empire! 02:28
there's no one left for me to rule, and i've got a rickety old throne that can't hold my weight. i'm sovereign king of no one, empty ruler of those still living, and there's nothing left for me. i can see hope in your mind (empire empire) and fire in your eyes (empire empire) i was the leader of those still living (empire empire) and i have met my end. i saw the hope leave your eyes as i watched you fall, if there's one thing that i've learned is that we all fall.

Pale Fire 04:06
you see the rest of the world as if it's burning in pale fire. the same fire that heats the blood that runs through both of us. the noises coming out of your mouth are a poor excuse for words, the things you say are pathetic you just want to be heard. and you act like you can solve all your problems, looking up through the bottom of empty glass bottles. is it worth it to you, to push me farther every day? 12 steps won't be enough now that you're 13 steps away.

The Idealist 03:51
i pulled every string off my guitar i screamed til' i was dizzy then fell down on the floor. i am sober i'm just weary, i am healthy i'm just ill at ease so please, humor my corpse pose i need to detach myself from feeling. still all my song shall be all that raised me and if denials the cure let me hide myself there. follow me up the inclines and through the trails on the mountain side, until we find a spot where i can die i just need to forget that i'm alive. our senses fail our bodies go numb as the boundless arch of the sky above swallows us. you wept the first time you heard this song but that's alright.
